Verify gmail.com addresses

Gmail is the largest mailbox provider on most lists, and one of the easiest to misread. Google Workspace domains can be configured catch-all, and consumer Gmail has its own acceptance quirks, so a bare SMTP RCPT answer is not enough.

How Kavik verifies Gmail

• Dedicated Google strategy, not the generic SMTP probe: the target address is probed first, before any catch-all test, so a catch-all domain cannot taint the mailbox verdict. For consumer Gmail, a direct RCPT answer is definitive.
• Per-domain behavior profiles. Workspace domains that accept everything are recorded and measured; a catch-all verdict caps the score at risky instead of calling it valid.
• Typo squats (gmal.com, gmial.com) are flagged as typos of gmail.com with a suggestion, never silently corrected.

What the verdicts mean here

• Valid: the mailbox was accepted and confirmed through the Google strategy.
• Risky: the domain is catch-all (common on Workspace), so the mailbox cannot be proven. Mail with care.
• Invalid: Google definitively said the user does not exist.
• Unknown: a provider-side limit or greylist this time; never billed, re-check free.
